Maala Nair who co-ordinates these school shows said the following:

“Our staff and members were so thrilled to see the amazing work of your students.  We were able to showcase them in time for our holiday celebrations  where members of the Profession, Council, staff and stakeholders got to see the incredible art pieces.  It was also very timely being the holiday season the theme resonated with everyone.  I received several emails asking me to convey their gratitude to your students for coming up  with such high quality artwork.”

This is great news knowing each of you helped raise awareness to this pressing issue through your artwork. Great work everyone 🙂

Surreal painted faces

Standard

Check out these surreal face paintings.  They are “inspired by two-dimensional posters, comics, pop art, paintings, pixelated images, and cartoon characters… This is a combination of interesting make-ups, studio photography experiments and careful retouching.” See the rest of the series here.

It definitely takes face painting and make up application to a whole new level! Also take a look at their black and white series here!

Dosconnect to connect

Standard

Do you have that one friend who is always glued to his or her phone? I’m sure we all know at least one person who is like this. Or maybe that person is you! I am guilty of this too sometimes~

Check out this short but powerful public service message from Thailand:

The quality of the video isn’t the best, but the message is meaningful. It reminds us that we need to take time to disconnect from our electronic devices, and remember to notice the people around us. I challenge you all to unplug this weekend and spend some time with your loved ones! Interact with people in person, have a real conversation, and just live life =)
